I don’t want to get into any taxonomic arguments. If you think M. ugandensis is a good species and not a subspecies, fine by me. I’m not a taxonomist, just an admirer. I love keeping these beetles. Not just because their size makes them spectacular but because their coloration varies so much between individuals that I can actually give them names. Also, they tend to get pretty grumpy at certain times of the day, and I can relate to that. This box took an immense amount of time, but it turned out beautifully.
